My parents travelled both on Cathay and JAL. Cathay has better food , but the flight to SFO is really long. They had used JAL before which has approx 8-10 hrs for each leg. Also, on the return , there is a days halt , so they provide a hotel. My parents took a small tour of the area too.

I have a same question. I have my EAD but my h1b is expiring in decmber 07 which i am not planning to extend. So do I need to take my EAD and current employment letter to DMV along with tons of other documents to prove the residence status.
Please respond if anyone has done the same.

My 485 was approved last week. Current status is Post Decison Activity. I've received Welcome Notice few days back.
It seems like USCIS automatically ported the PD.
My EB3 PD is April 2003 and working for the sponsored company.
I filed another 140 under EB2 through another company and it got approved 3 years back. I never joined in that company. I didn't port my EB3 PD when the EB2 140 was filed.
As a matter of fact, I completely forgot about this EB2 140 and this company.
All of a sudden, last week my 485 was approved with the EB2 PD which is Jan 2006.
I guess USCIS ported EB3-EB2 automatically. Is it normal?. What should I do?.
Please advice.

That footer would kick arse to techno music. I love the techno music! I think you just aren't pleased with it because it's yours. I know I am not fully pleased with mine. But I keep getting compliments on it, so I guess it is good.
I guess it is because since you made it, you got to see it all the time, so to us it is new, but to you it is old, so we are like "oh wow" and you are just like "eh, its alright".

But I guess I'm still hung up on the "suggestion" (not rule, I suppose) to have more space in the direction the subject is heading or looking than to the rear of him/her/it - especially also not to center the subject. So, I'd still crop it the same, but I should have indicated better what I was thinking (not a tight crop, which is probably what it sounded like I meant).

Do you have an unexpired visa? If so, just traveling out of US and coming back through port-of-entry should do the trick. For best results, try an airline travel. YMMV.

hi,
what i heard from my new employer is that it is not advisible to invoke Ac21 as long as you get RFE from where you have filed your 485 application or through attroney,
they told me that if you invoke AC21 it may delay your process. so what i feel is that it is better not to invoke AC21 as long as previous employer is in good terms with you....

I had got an RFE on my 485 for a TB retest.
My lawyer suggested that i get the whole medical done again just so that they do not request any more tests as it had been more than a year.
On the other hand, my wife's medical was OK. so we did not have to do anything.
I think it is safer to get the whole medical re done if you got an medical related RFE.

Hi All,
We received this letter and my wife is currently in India. She is comng back only after 2 months. Secondly this letter says it has been Xfrd to MO. We live in virginia. I am not sure how it went there.
Also let me know what all documents you guys carried.

Pls sincerely advice if he can still apply for H1B in April 2008, if he just missed 365 days out of country rule by 6 or 7 days (incase he comes back on Aug 10th 2007 for filing, he would fulfill 360 days out of country and not 365 as needed) ?
please do some research on immigrationportal.com. i recall reading that short visits should not reset the H1B 365 day clock. days of short visits will just not get counted towards the 365 days.

I just applied I-485 with EAD/AP on July 2nd. my wife also has H1. I am the primary to 485.
Question:
My wife wants to go for permanent position on EAD. When she will eligible for permanent position? After 180 days or can before?
Please seniors advice on this. because she is going to get contract-to-hire position.

And it may well depend upon the demand for H1b visas this year. If there is a huge demand for H1b visas like last year, there is a good chance congress may recapture lost H1b visas. Then EB visas may also be recaptured along with H1b visas.
But I'm not sure about the demand for H1B this year , as H4 to H1 conversion will be down this year due to (most of) H4 visa holders getting EAD. Another issue is if OPT is increased to 24 months, then F1 to H1 will also fall drastically.
Fear of recession may also reduce new H1B visa demand.
